Your Role:
As our Environmental Geologist, you will help support critical environmental investigations and remediation efforts. You’ll perform fieldwork, analyze environmental data, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, while meeting A-Zone’s high standards of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and implementation of project plans, including Accident Prevention Plans, Sampling and Analysis Plans, and Field Sampling Plans.
Support field investigations and sampling projects.
Maintain and oversee groundwater treatment systems, including both routine and unscheduled maintenance.
Oversee field work projects such as underground storage tank removals, earthwork activities, and demolition of various buildings and structures.
Analyze raw environmental data and produce comprehensive reports and deliverables.
Coordinate field activities, including managing vendors, equipment, and permits for fieldwork.
Implement and ensure adherence to site safety plans during field operations.

Requirements:

A positive attitude
Valid driver’s license
Ability to travel 75% of time
Must be able to pass a background check and obtain secret security clearance for government contract projects
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science or related field
OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

Ability to read maps and construction drawings
Excellent communication and technical writing skills
Fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel
Experience in soil and groundwater sampling
Experience in the set-up and operation of field metering equipment
Familiarity with filling out daily safety and performance reports
Ability to work independently, supervise field teams, and manage subcontractors
