Duties/Responsibilities:
· In coordination with the business leaders and EHS partners, this role will have the primary role to define safety at GK CL and onsite at major customers where we are requested. This position oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of the environment health and safety program for GK manufacturing operations, construction sites, and miscellaneous locations.
· Maintain compliance of written programs, customer compliance websites, posters, logs, marketing materials and documentation (for OSHA, customers, and government agencies).
· Represent GK during audits from OSHA or customers. Facilitate corrective actions and complete any communications in response to audits or inquiries.
· Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures, and a schedule of routine inspections. Work with leadership to get all employees involved and ensure identified areas for improvement are implemented in a timely manner.
· Investigate all incidents and accidents, determining root cause. Work as a team with leadership on site and human resources to take corrective action.
· Analyze data to predict hazards. Work with human resources and leadership to co-develop health and safety procedures for all areas of the company, including offsite at customer locations where GK employees are exposed to risk.
· Prepare, schedule and deploy safety training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics. Training is needed for new hires, annual compliance, and post-accident.
· Develop processes that reinforce safe behaviors contributing to a culture of safety.
· Support human resources by providing documentation for the processing of work comp.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies – in a manufacturing facility and in a construction site.
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
· Successful experience with change management.
· Intermittent domestic and international travel is required.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field required; Master’s degree desirable.
· OSHA 30 Hour Certification in both Construction and General Industry.
· Five years of related experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
· Physically able to transport equipment used for inspections, use a computer, phone, and travel by plane and car to conduct work onsite at construction and production sites.
· Visual acuity and hearing ability to conduct conversations in person, on the phone and over video. Must also be able to produce and conduct training in small and large groups.
