Who are we looking for?
Due to continued growth, GHD is currently seeking a positive, collaborative, and energetic Environmental Scientist/Engineer (Hydrogeology) with strong academic or work background studying earth science and geochemistry to join our team. This position will be out of our Waterloo Office.
This is an excellent opportunity to start a career in environmental consulting and professional services. You will work face-to-face with a group of industry-leading geoscientists and engineers supporting a diverse range of projects in hydrogeology and contaminated site assessment in our state-of-the-art Waterloo Office. From time to time, however, field work may be required that could include remote work or extended periods away from the office.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
Data Analysis and Report Writing
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver technical solutions to our clients’ diverse set of challenges
- Data compilation, interpretation, and analysis of geochemical and hydrogeologic field and analytical data for technical reports
- Assist in the preparation of data tables and figures, as required
- Contribute to the preparation of draft technical memos, reports, and deliverables including but not limited to environmental investigation summary reports, natural attenuation evaluations, conceptual site model reports, annual monitoring reports, remedial designs, and permitting
- Interpret engineering drawings/plans
What you will bring to the team:
- Degree in Geology, Earth Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent from a recognized post-secondary institution
- Master’s degree in earth/environmental sciences, hydrogeology, or geochemistry would be considered an asset
- Team player, collaborate with other staff, subcontractors, clients, and other stakeholders
- Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong English written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to perform field tasks, including working in inclement weather conditions in remote areas
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred
- 0-2 years of relevant experience. Previous experience working in environmental consulting or relevant co-ops/internship experience would be considered an asset
- Eligibility to register as a E.I.T. or G.I.T. would be considered an asset
