Position Summary
This position ensures environmental compliance and implements environmental programs associated with the maintenance and improvement of spill response and waste management activities for the Company’s Gulf Coast sites.
Requirements:
B.S. in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or related field required
5 – 7 years experience in a plant or regulatory environment
Experience working with and proven understanding of various governmental regulations
Extensive experience working with air emissions, wastewater, and other potentially hazardous pollutants
Working knowledge of federal operating permits
A solid history of working with regulatory agencies
Excellent computer skills including the ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet applications, sales and financial databases, government systems, etc.
Solid English communications skills, both oral and written, Spanish language skills helpful
Ability to multi-task; good organizational skills
Customer service focus; ability to influence; ability to communicate diplomatically

Task & Responsibilities:
Proactively monitors compliance with environmental waste permits and raises potential issues to the Gulf Coast Environmental & Quality Manager in a timely manner.
Assists in monitoring of the Company’s environmental compliance policies, procedures and programs.
Complies with Company’s Global Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality standards and maintains continued quality of Company process systems.
Actively participates in regulatory site inspections.
Reviews and completes environmental section of internal, customer and supplier information requests as needed.
Responsible for completing and submitting the following regulatory reports in a timely manner:

Monthly Underground Injection Control (UIC) Injection Reports;
Monthly Waste Receipt Summaries;
Quarterly UIC Corrosion Monitoring Reports;
Annual UIC Injection Zone Report;
Annual Waste Minimization Certification;
Annual Waste Summary;
Annual Tier II Report;
Annual Toxic Release Inventory Report;
Annual Pollution Prevention Progress Report;
Annual UIC Mechanical Integrity Testing Report; and
Biennial Waste Report.
Coordinates the completion and submittal of appropriate spill remediation reports and notifications including, but not limited to, Affected Property Assessment Reports and Response Action Plans for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ).
Responsible for completing necessary paperwork and processing TCEQ invoices for payment including, but no limited to, TCEQ Monthly Waste Facility Fees.
Maintains and updates, on a monthly basis, the facilities’ TCEQ Notices of Registration for waste activities.
Develops reports, on a quarterly basis, to the Company division office of the status of ongoing site remediation activities.
Responds and assists with spill response measures; assists in cleanup as required; monitors waste management issues; performs sampling; maintains documentation and analytical data including chain of custody documents.
Conducts and submits specified water sampling to appropriate parties as required
Complete all reports to Harris County & Galveston Subsidence District (HGSD), Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and Texas Water Development Board
Monitors water withdrawal; records amounts of potable, industrial, and surface water;
Completes regulatory reports
Conducts stormwater lift inspections; response to stormwater drainage issues
Performs quality review and calculations on state discharge elimination data; completes and
submits stormwater discharge report; maintains documentation
Assists with regulation research; files environmental regulatory updates; assists with data
gathering, documentation, and regulatory interpretations for permit applications, amendments and renewals
