The Equipment Shift Supervisor provides effective leadership, supervision and direction of maintenance employees on assigned shifts to ensure the effective delivery of maintenance services. Includes planning, assigning, directing work, addresses challenges and ensures objectives are met for safety, efficiency, and cost effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
· Engage a team of qualified employees to keep equipment running
· Assist in directing preventive maintenance programs and implementing corrective actions
· Be “Hands on” with repairs by performing and assisting the team with work orders
· Schedule, train, supervise and motivate employees for the maintenance department
· Create a formal work order system to track efficiency
· Create a system to track unplanned Maintenance to forecast and improve machine uptime
· Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates
· Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts
· Control and monitor spares inventory
· Track machine downtime and recommend strategies to reduce
· Implement safety policies and procedures for the department
· Help to develop a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule, ensure full preventative maintenance is carried out, lead the team to deliver effectively
· Maintain accurate record of maintenance operations and present to upper management reports of daily activities
· Be able to support off shift requirements as necessary
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred (or Electro-mechanic license) with Electro-mechanical background
· Minimum of 3 years plant maintenance experience in a Supervisory capacity
· Licensed Electrician or Millwright
· Proven track record in performance management and budgeting
· CMMS software experience
