Inventory Specialist
Job Summary/Overview:
This dual-role position requires managing inventory for solar products and systems while ensuring accurate data entry and record-keeping. The ideal candidate will have experience in inventory management, proficiency in data entry, and a strong understanding of solar equipment and components.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Core/Primary Job Responsibilities:
Track, monitor, and manage the inventory of solar products and components.
Receive, inspect, and record incoming shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.
Maintain and update inventory records and system to ensure accurate stock levels and timely inventory tracking.
Work with cross-functional teams to forecast inventory needs and identify potential stock issues.
Monitor inventory levels and identify potential stockouts or overstock situations.
Maintain up-to-date records of all transactions, including purchases, sales, and transfers.
Manage inventory aging and coordinate proper rotation or disposal of obsolete inventory.
Participate in regular inventory counts and coordinate physical inventory audits as needed.
Develop and implement SOPs for inventory management and continuously improve inventory operations.
Review and analyze inventory data to identify trends and potential areas for improvement.
Track and document changes in inventory and compliance documentation.
Ensure the proper storage, labeling, and organization of inventory in the warehouse.
Perform cycle counts or check different sections of inventory on a rotating basis.
Conduct regular physical inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.
Received physical count of inventory Class A, B, and C and updated QBO inventory.
Create and update sales receipts in QBO for each project, after installation is completed.
Verify before the end of each month, that all sales receipts regarding installations are updated in QBO system.
Responsible for making a good receipt of every Purchase Order received in the Warehouse.
Other functions as directed and/ or assigned.
Travel might be required
Prepare and generate reports related to inventory levels, usage, and discrepancies.
Communicate with project managers and site supervisors regarding inventory needs.
Provide support to other departments in sourcing and availability of solar components.
Assist in resolving inventory-related issues and inquiries from internal teams.
Other functions as directed and/ or assigned.
Employee may be required to travel for business purposes
Requirements
Requirements, Education, Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
Experience in inventory management, preferably in the solar or renewable energy industry
Supply Chain Management or a related field is desired
Great customer service
Must have a clean driver's license and background check
Proficiency in data entry and experience with inventory management software
High School diploma or a GED
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proficiency in record-keeping and document management.
Basic understanding of solar products and components is a plus.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing regulations.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Works independently, as a team player, and drives results in a fast-paced, team based environment

Work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment or travels via vehicle
Ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds.
Standing, walking, and sitting for extended periods.
Working in warehouse environments with exposure to varying temperatures.
Use of computer, phone, copier, and other office equipment in the course of a day
While performing the duties of this job, occasionally required to use hand to handle, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, talk, hear, and ambulate during employment
Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and an ability to adjust focus
