Responsibilities
· Supervise a team of forklift technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of productivity and quality work.
· Develop and implement maintenance and repair schedules for all forklifts, ensuring that they are serviced regularly to avoid breakdowns and maximize uptime.
· Coordinate with other departments to schedule forklift repairs and maintenance, minimizing disruption to operations.
· Conduct regular inspections and safety checks to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify any potential issues or hazards.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues with forklifts, coordinating repairs with technicians and external vendors if necessary.
· Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities, including service logs, inspection reports, and parts inventory.
· Monitor and manage the budget for forklift maintenance and repairs, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or quality.
· Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for forklift operations and maintenance, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
· Stay informed about new technologies and advancements in forklift equipment, recommending upgrades or modifications to enhance efficiency and safety.
· Foster a culture of safety and adherence to regulations among forklift operators and technicians, providing ongoing training and promoting best practices.
Supervisor Forklift Services Required Skills
· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and supervise a team effectively.
· Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities to diagnose and resolve mechanical issues with forklifts.
· In-depth knowledge of forklift operations and maintenance procedures, including familiarity with different types of forklifts and their components.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
· Solid organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively coordinate with technicians, vendors, and other departments.
· Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
· Proficient in using computer software and systems for maintenance tracking, inventory management, and communication purposes.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Minimum of 3 years of experience in forklift maintenance or a related field.
· Proven experience in a supervisory role, preferably in a forklift services or maintenance department.
· Certification as a forklift technician or equivalent is preferred.
· Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards related to forklift operations.
· Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
· Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
· Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
