Louisiana Recycled Aggregates is a South Louisiana based producer of construction aggregate materials located in Geismar, LA. We are seeking to hire a Wash Crew Laborer to clean and maintain the sites heavy equipment & other assets. The Wash Crew Laborer is responsible for the cleaning, preventative maintenance, & upkeep of company equipment. The position may operate a variety of hand and power tools. The position requires strong attention and commitment to safety as well as the experience and aptitude necessary to complete the job responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities & Related Skills
- Performs job functions in person at the LRA facility.
- Cleans, washes, & maintains equipment as directed by the supervisor.
- Follow all environmental regulations. Dispose of chemicals, trash, etc. in designated areas. Recycle when required. Notify the Maintenance Coordinator, Lead Mechanic, or Safety Manager immediately of any potential or current environmental problems
- Maintain and organize work area, tools, and equipment.
- Maintains a clean job site; picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
- Performs materials handling and storage.
- Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 100 pounds of material with assistance if requested.
- Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems to the attention of the Site Supervisor & EHS.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites including extreme weather conditions that include but are not limited to high heat and humidity, cold, ice, snow, & rain. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt. The position works on wet, slippery conditions that requires coordination and use of all limbs to maintain contact with equipment while walking & climbing on to reach areas needing to be cleaned.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee works from platforms at height. The employee walks and works on unlevel, steep, slippery, wet, muddy, & inconsistent ground. The employee must have excellent stamina.
