We are looking for a Battery Product Characterization Engineer to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for characterization, qualification and failure analysis of Ensurge’s solid state microbatteries working alongside a best-in-class innovative team!
Responsibilities:
- Execute creation of Li-ion battery test procedures and characterization of battery performance under various test conditions including UN38.3, IEC62133-2 and UL1642 qualifications
- Conducts and prepares DOEs to investigate battery cell product performance, reliability, and safety
- Collect, organize, process, and analyze large quantities of cell test data to evaluate performance, reliability, safety, and summarize data in test reports and presentations
- Perform failure analysis utilizing both internal and external resources
- Identify potential for improvements relating to yield, quality and/or performance
Education and Experience:
- BS degree or higher in engineering, chemistry or material science with a MS or Ph.D. preferred
- 5+ years of experience in battery or semiconductor characterization and qualification
- Experience in gathering, analyzing, and presenting characterization and qualification data
- Experience with JMP or other data analytical software
- Experience with automating bench equipment with use of battery testers
- Strong understanding in battery materials, interfaces, electrolytes and electrochemistry to drive mechanistic understanding of battery performance
