Your Responsibilities:
- Work on sustainable materials, ingredients and services to support Lonza's Net Zero vision and Lonza's sustainability commitments (e.g., on energy, climate change, water, materials and waste)
- Support scanning for, and evaluation of, sustainable ingredients, considering, for example: carbon capture; emerging origin and raw materials risk; PFAS restrictions, use and development of alternative feedstock origin etc.
- Support the Net Zero agenda by critically evaluating the costs, risks and benefits of supplier and material alternatives and innovations
- Structure and lead data analysis to develop compelling insights and actionable Scope 3 absolute emission reduction roadmaps
- Manage global Procurement cross-functional projects
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and submit data for auditing purposes, external ratings etc.
- Engage with and coach suppliers in developing absolute emissions reductions strategies, developing LCAs and verify them
- Implement and monitor relevant targets, KPI’s and reporting capabilities to track and measure the performance of the program and of our suppliers
- Manage dedicated supplier assessment and onboarding platforms (workflow, reporting, communication, support, etc.)
- Monitor and research emerging trends, global sustainability dynamics regulatory environment
- Develop and execute training for Procurement professionals and Suppliers
- Support workshops with key business functions and incorporate deliverables into the Responsible Sourcing and Corporate Sustainability program
Key requirements:
- University degree in engineering, /supply chain management /sustainability - Master’s strongly preferred.
- Minimum technical knowledge: Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), Science Based Targets/ Net Zero guidelines, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), GHG protocol guidelines, Ecoinvent Emission Factor methodology, Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard, biogenic emissions/ renewable energy certifications and carbon capture carbon offset projects & technologies
- Strong data analysis skills, experience in working with large amount of data and forming insights and actions
- Hands on experience in Decarbonization programs, SBTi, Life cycle assessments
- Experience in pharma industry is a plus.
- Excellent command of MS-Office applications, especially Excel and Power Point, SAP, Power BI is a plus
- Excellent written and oral skills in English, German is a plus
- Hands-on contributor who likes to take up a challenge and deliver tangible results
- Enthusiastic self-starter, with influencing skills to communicate and persuade internal and external stakeholders at all levels
- Understanding of different Procurement disciplines and how they integrate with each other
- Passion to drive Decarbonization topics
- Experience in working in a dynamic environment with ability to prioritize and focus
- Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills both written and verbal
- Experience in working in international, virtual and cross-functional teams, ability to adapt to audience
