As a Carbon Associate you will play a key role in developing and implementing Rayonier's carbon strategy, helping to build a world-class carbon platform and capture value from our land-based solutions.
How to contribute:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You'll be evaluating project feasibility, conducting market research, and developing financial models. Stay ahead of the curve by conducting thorough analyses of carbon markets, trends, and emerging opportunities.
- Collaborate: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to identify and develop carbon offset projects across Rayonier's extensive U.S. timberland portfolio. Lead the creation of internal systems and processes for carbon project origination, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and evolving market demands.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills. You'll be collaborating with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications
- BS Degree in natural resources or related field, business or finance (STEM major is preferred)
- 3+ years experience in financial modeling such as DCF (Discounted Cash Flow) and advanced use of Excel
- Project management skills with the ability to structure and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Demonstrated proficiency and expertise with personal computers in a networked environment and Microsoft applications (Word, Excel and Power Point) and capability to leverage internal system to build carbon platform
- Understanding of end-to-end timber financial evaluation, including growth & yield modeling as well as harvest schedule modeling
- Ability to communicate, collaborate, and manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external contractors
- Attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized and self-directed with strong initiative
- Capable of making decisions and resolving problems independently
- Able to travel for internal and external outreach/customer visits as needed
Location: Wildlight, FL – requires a minimum of three days a week in the office. (Tue, Wed & Thur)
