The opportunity
We're currently looking for a Cost Reduction Project Lead. Someone to join our Battery Technology team in order to support to the development projects within the Battery and Charging Systems. Someone with a passion for electric mobility, an interest in technology, and a desire to create the change we know is needed.
There will be two Product Cost Management Project Leaders within the Electromobility and Powertrain System organization. Both will work closely with the Department Project Leader for Product Cost Management and support a cross functional team covering several product areas within the company. This role will focus on optimising the cost structure of Polestar's current and future vehicle models within Battery and Charging systems and be located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The responsibilities
In this role, you'll be expected to deliver and secure cost reduction, mainly on the Battery system across our vehicles lines. Working as a member of our Battery Technology team, you'll be instrumental in leading product development and cost reduction tasks through cross-functional teamwork.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with multiple teams to identify cost-saving opportunities, implement effective cost reduction strategies, and monitor their impact. You will also collaborate with a matched pair in partner organisations to find shared opportunities that can be realised across different brands within the wider Geely group.

- Lead cost reduction activities from idea to implementation in collaboration with external partners and internally within your portfolio.
- Lead and coordinate a cross-functional team of engineers and engineering projects, responsible for mainly time, technique and cost.
- Act as the main point of contact between engineering teams and other departments or external stakeholders.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and risks effectively to stakeholders.
- Ensure quality and transparency through technical documentation.

In addition, you'll need the following:
- Degree in a relevant subject area, e.g. Engineering, Industrial Economics, or significant equivalent experience.
- Experience in cost reduction, cost analysis, or a related role within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- JIRA or similar project management tool experience.
- Having worked in or having knowledge of battery and charging systems is desirable.
