Title: Solar Fleet Maintenance Lead
Location: Walls, MS Hybrid
Duration: 12+ Month W2 Contract
RATE: $31/HR
Job Description:
The Solar Fleet Maintenance Lead is responsible for overseeing the maintenance of a solar fleet, leading a team of technicians, and ensuring compliance with operational standards. The role requires direct interaction with customers, training of technicians, and managing compliance documentation, with responsibilities extending across solar equipment maintenance, site support, and management assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of Solar Fleet (50%):
- Lead technician crews to complete maintenance tasks and ensure operational efficiency.
- Interact with customers as directed by management.
- Train and mentor new technicians, providing guidance as required.
- Perform both planned and unplanned maintenance on sub-station equipment.
- Conduct pad-mounted transformer switching following Lock Out/Tag Out procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve warranty issues.
- Complete reporting requirements, including daily, weekly, and monthly reports.
- Diagnose and address mechanical and electrical faults in solar turbines.
- Carry out corrective maintenance tasks.
- Work according to schedule, including on-call shifts as required.
- Compliance & Administrative Record Maintenance (20%):
- Complete Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) documentation as required.
- Ensure proper record-keeping for work orders, timesheets, tool and PPE inventory, and other necessary paperwork.
- Participate in Pre-Job Briefs to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Site Support (20%):
- Provide support to other company facilities as required, with the willingness to travel as needed.
- Assisting Management (10%):
- Assist management in fulfilling vendor contractual obligations and landowner agreements.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED.
- Licenses: Valid driver's license.
- Training: Completion of initial training at Deriva Renewables Academy.
- Experience:
- Previous solar experience preferred.
- Experience with multiple solar equipment technologies.
- High voltage and sub-station maintenance experience.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electronic testing equipment (e.g., voltage testers, amp clamps, oscilloscopes).
- Knowledge of heavy equipment for facility maintenance and working knowledge of crane and rigging requirements.
