JOB SUMMARY
Our client is seeking a full time Solar Program Manager to provide overall management oversight on geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing projects for multiple clients within the national solar market. This is an exciting opportunity to make a big impact on our organization managing a fast-growing multi-million dollar client program for our client. The Solar Program Manager will:
Plan, organize, and administer project execution activities to support the needs of clients on multiple projects.
Maintain contact with past and present clients to develop leads and maintain relationships
Coordinate project teams to develop proposal effort, strategy, and budget to deliver winning proposals
Provide senior review and obtain appropriate technical input for proposal/project execution efforts
Develop and secure new contracts with new & existing clients
Manage assigned staff ensuring appropriate resourcing of projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assesses the solar market sector including opportunities and risks and develops strategies to penetrate the market, identify clients and win projects.
• Works with client staff members to identify, develop, and propose on future work assignments.
• Manages project execution including proposal development, project organization, subcontractor management, scheduling, financial management, health and safety stewardship and quality.
• Effectively uses workflows and processes to secure project resources, complete proposals, develop contracts, maintain project records, monitor project execution, bill clients, and collect receivables.
• Works effectively with Project Managers and technical project support staff to monitor and control projects to achieve financial target metrics for all projects.
• Mentors and coaches project team members and provides constructive feedback on performance.
• Leads project teams to meet or exceed client expectations while meeting industry standard of care.
• Provides supervision of dedicated staff within solar program team. Manages direct reports consisting of Project Managers, project engineers and other field staff.
• Coordinates with Company/Office leadership to monitor project management performance and provide mentoring and career guidance related to project management.
• Nurtures and grows client relationships.

EXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS
-Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geotechnical or Geological Engineering. Master’s degree in Geotechnical or Geological engineering preferred.
-PE License required
-Experience: 8–10 years of related experience, 5–7 years project management experience and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations required. 3–4 years supervisory/management experience required.
-Certification/Registration: Professional engineering registration required.
