WTR Search - Renewables is looking for several Solar Field Technicians for full-time salaried, safety-sensitive positions in North Carolina. These are NOT travel positions and relocation assistance will be provided.
The purpose of this position is to perform safe and reliable operation and maintenance of the North Carolina solar portfolio by adhering to company standards, procedures, and processes. It is expected that you will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and prioritize the safety of the team to achieve the successful operation of the solar farm and assets.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, including mounting panels, wiring electrical components, inverters, and configuring system settings.
- Perform maintenance and inspections on solar installations to ensure optimal performance and address any issues that arise.
- Diagnose and repair faults in solar PV systems, including electrical and mechanical issues.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while working on-site, ensuring a safe work environment for yourself and others.
- Verify that installations and repairs meet industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Complete and submit detailed service reports, including work performed, parts used, and system performance data.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in solar PV systems, and participate in ongoing training as required.
- Supporting the daily to three-month operations and maintenance plan in alignment with the Supervisor's business plan through driving operational performance, achievement of business results, and continuous improvement
- Support the Supervisor as part of a high-performance team of employees and contractors to achieve the expected outcomes of the plants
- Contribute to a collaborative work environment within the team, peers, stakeholders, and support groups to ensure issues may be resolved in a professional and productive manner
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in solar PV installation, maintenance, or repair. Relevant experience in electrical or mechanical fields is also acceptable.
- Experience with installation, troubleshooting, and repair of solar inverters and panel trackers
- Experience with high voltage (HV) and medium voltage (MV) systems, including safety procedures and maintenance practices
- Understanding of the operational aspects of the plant - technical, compliance, and financial
- Plant risk and related mitigation strategies
- Understanding of contractor requirements, procurement processes, and inventory management
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and irregular hours, as required
- Maintain required training certifications
- Have a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
- Successful completion of pre-employment testing and physical exam is required as a condition of employment
