Position Summary
The HR Site Lead will be responsible for supporting one or multiple Plug Power sites by staying connected to matters which impact the people and the culture of the organization. This role is a subject matter expert providing guidance on all employee life cycle matters such as: performance management, employee engagement, compensation, compliance and much more. This individual will also act as a facilitator for designated departments between the Human Resources Centers of Excellence as well as our Global Human Resources Business Partners to execute on operational excellence for the Human Resources team. The ideal candidate must maintain a thorough understanding of business priorities and continue working to build trusted relationships with a diverse audience of internal stakeholders representing a wide variety of HR support needs. The HR Site Lead must have a strong generalist foundation including knowledge of HR best practices and the legal environment while also possessing skills in the areas of interpersonal communication, relationship building, project management, critical thinking, and process improvement. This individual must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple competing priorities at once, and is willing to adapt within a fast-paced organization.
This role will have responsibility for multiple sites within the Houston region and the ideal candidate for this role must be bilingual, English, and Spanish speaking.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
- Facilitates support for designated departments by partnering with the Human Resources Centers of Excellence as well as Global Human Resources Business Partners to execute on operational excellence.
- Intentionally partners with support groups to enable leadership development and readiness to support organizational goals and execution.
- Supports leaders with career development resources to foster employee growth, engagement and retention.
- Collaborates with support groups to foster positive employee engagement and retention through survey results and actions.
- Assists HR Leadership team with change management initiatives, including but not limited to preparing, supporting, and equipping employees and leaders with the resources they need to successfully adopt changes.
- Supports HR Leadership team with talent planning and succession efforts within support groups in an effort to build a strong talent pipeline throughout the organization.
- Interfaces with leaders to build relationships, employee morale and increase both productivity and retention throughout Plug Power.
- Partners with leaders on performance management items, including encouraging goal setting, and ongoing feedback and communication.
- Conducts exit and stay interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the HR leadership team for continuous improvement.
- Collaborates and supports Global Talent Acquisition team with recruitment efforts for assigned departments.
- Partners with Employee Relations, executing on recommendations based on findings of investigations and assisting as needed with conducting investigations.
- Assists in facilitating HR training to various levels of management to include leadership training, HR policy and compliance, and employee engagement.
- Administers various human resource policies and procedures.
- Maintains an ongoing knowledge of legislation impacting HR activities; identify compliance gaps within HR functionality and recommend remedial actions as appropriate.
- Supports the organization through participation in special HR projects that maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and maintain morale.
- Develop strong and effective collaboration with internal clients and staff across departments.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or another relevant field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in Human Resource in a generalist capacity.
- Experience as the single point of HR contact at a manufacturing facility is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish speaking) required.
- Experience with employee relations and investigations required.
- Experience within a technology, engineering or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- SHRM certification a plus (PHR or SHRM-CP).
- Experience with Workday is desired.
- Computer and software systems skills as applicable to position including but not limited to: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
