The Opportunity…
General Job Description: The Project Coordinator, EV Charging manages EV charger installations for GRID Alternatives’ EV charging incentive programs.
Major duties and responsibilities:
- Technical assessment: remotely assess home electrical components, perform electrical load calculations, determine EV charger installation feasibility, and finalize project scope.
- Client communication: guide clients through program pathways, navigate incentives and requirements, stack additional programs when possible, answer questions about EV chargers and related electrical components, advise on project decisions, arrive at a project scope, and execute contracts.
- Budgeting, procurement, and data tracking: work with clients, subcontractors, and equipment vendors to budget projects within program funding amounts, purchase EV chargers from vendors, track costs and other data points.
- Design and permitting: design plansets, assemble permit packages, apply for permits and schedule inspections.
- Subcontractor management: send requests for quotes, execute contracts, perform quality checks, collect invoices, organize post-install documents, recruit and vet new subcontractors.
- Operations: assist with creating, improving, and documenting standard operating procedures, as well as internal and external resources.
- Non-Program Work: Includes, but is not limited to, general internal staff meetings and engagement; non-program-related equity, inclusion, and diversity work; and keeping abreast of GRID’s work in other areas.
What you need to bring to this role...
The ideal candidate should have some demonstrated experience/knowledge in the following areas. Where there are gaps, they should be willing and able to learn from internal training resources, as well as self-initiated research. Candidates are encouraged to apply even if they do not meet all of the preferred qualifications but have transferable skills that help develop the preferred qualifications within a reasonable time.
- Project coordination/management and client care experience
- Familiarity with EVs and EV chargers
- Familiarity with electrical components and the National Electric Code
- Permitting experience
- Experience using design software such as SketchUp
- Experience using workplace technology such as Google Drive and Microsoft Suite, and Customer Relationship Management software such as Salesforce.
