An Exciting Opportunity to support Schneider Electric’s government relations strategy in Washington, D.C. by contributing to Schneider’s federal and state efforts on topics such as the future of clean energy, energy resilience, cyber-security, smart manufacturing, and climate/sustainability. Building upon Schneider’s significant US footprint and Schneider’s vision for de-carbonization, sustainability, and an all-electric world, the Intern will work to enhance Schneider relationships with key government officials and industry organizations to promote a business and policy environment that is more favorable to our growth objectives and our vision for sustainability and corporate responsibility. The role is based in Washington, D.C. and will be hybrid. The person fulfilling this role will be integrated into a small but vibrant and diverse team of government relations professionals where they will have an opportunity to take on more substantial work than a typical intern, gaining valuable experience in public policy, lobbying, and corporate strategy.
In this role, the intern will be responsible for internal and external activity, including the following:
· Policy and/or policy/comms experience
· Collating GR materials and developing GR ‘library’
· Creating and organizing GR collateral
· Development of important communications materials needed for government relations outreach
· Scheduling and attending virtual or in-person meetings with congressional staff on key policy issues
· Support event planing for local engagements
· Support research, policy, and position papers
· Completion of stakeholder maps on key issue areas
· Support developing regular social media content relating to government relations policy issues and Schneider Electric’s policy priorities
