Main responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the solar project development lifecycle from project inception (or acquisition) to handoff to construction. This includes facility with regulatory and policy frameworks, real estate, title, technical and interconnection due diligence, and non-ministerial permitting for a range of project types including roof-mounted, ground-mounted, and battery storage projects under 20MW AC—both in front of and behind the meter.
- Manage stakeholder relationships and community engagement for projects including landowners, project neighbors, local government and other stakeholders.
- Attend project meetings, coordinate with local officials, and obtain land use, zoning and other required permits.
- Research and analyze regulatory regimes governing electric energy systems in multiple states.
- Assess, analyze and mitigate risks in all parts of the development cycle.
- Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal and construction to ensure efficient and compliant development of solar projects.
- Engage, negotiate with, and manage consultants in a variety of professional and technical roles.
- Assist in the structuring, negotiating, and closing of land and tax agreements.
- Track and manage budgets, project milestones and schedules.
- Understand and manage the various applications and permit processes that apply to one’s project.
- Ensure development activities are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Work with the development team to problem solve, improve processes, and capture and implement lessons learned.

Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in solar energy development
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science or related field; advanced degree a plus
- Strong command of development cycle including, but not limited to, utility interconnection, permitting, land/RE matters, managing budgets and schedules
- Familiarity with the major components of PV solar systems back to the point of interconnection
- Demonstrated success developing multiple PV solar projects through the full project development lifecycle
- Financial planning, budgeting, organizational and resource management
- Strong ability to prioritize tasks and achieve goals in a timely fashion
- Effectively manage and motivate a variety of project stakeholders
- Problem solving and communication skills
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software; other technical knowledge a plus

Salary hiring range: $97,000-$120,000
Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry and are one part of many compensation, benefits, and other reward opportunities we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. We expect most of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.
