PMO Specialist
TerraPower is seeking a highly skilled Project Management Office (PMO) Specialist/Lead with subject matter expertise in core areas such as planning, risk management, compliance, or performance analysis. This position will support the corporate PMO, supporting and improving oversight of multiple advanced nuclear projects, including the Natrium advanced reactor project.
As part of a larger corporate PMO, this role is integral to ensure project success by providing specialized guidance and oversight, driving project performance, and fostering a culture of accountability. The PMO Specialist will work closely with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment, mitigate risks, and support delivery on key project objectives.
Responsibilities:
•Support specialized project management tasks, such as planning, scheduling, assessment, or oversight, ensuring their effective integration into the overall project management process.
•Monitor and analyze key performance indicators such as Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI). Provide monthly progress metrics to identify trends and provide subject matter expertise in developing mitigation strategies.
•Collaborate with senior leadership, PMO team, and project managers in our project teams to shape and execute corporate-level project strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the broader PMO framework.
•Support the continuous improvement of project management methodologies, tools, and workflows by integrating specialized knowledge and best practices.
•Develop strong relationships across the organization and with stakeholders, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment on project goals.
•Provide expertise in planning, risk management, compliance, and performance analysis to address project challenges and improve outcomes.
•Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth implementation of initiatives, including training and support for adopting new processes and tools.
•Report regularly to the Senior Director PMO and senior leadership on project status, risks, and key performance metrics, offering expert recommendations for course corrections as necessary.
Key Qualifications and Skills
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field from an accredited, four-year university or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred.
•5+ years of experience in dedicated PM or PMO roles.
•Capability and willingness to adhere to strict quality assurance standards.
•Demonstrated, applicable experience in a specialist area such as project planning, risk management, compliance or performance analysis.
•Experience with advanced nuclear projects (preferred).
•Ability to work within a larger PMO structure, collaborating across departments and drawing n broader organizational resources when needed.
•Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
•Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
•Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6) and MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel, and Project).
•The successful candidate will possess a high degree of trust and integrity, communicate openly and display respect and a desire to foster teamwork.

Salary Range Level 11: $125,257 - $ 208,762
*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary bands.Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected candidate’s qualifications and experience.This range is specific to Washington State.
