Consulting Services, a part of GE Vernova, has offices in multiple countries and offers our global clients (external & internal GE) a wide range of solutions across the entire spectrum of power generation, delivery, and utilization. Our Power Systems Engineering team utilizes their deep knowledge of connected power grid planning, design, operation, and life-cycle management, to offer customized solutions to our global clients. Our Power Economics team offers analyses focused on the understanding and the study of the financial and physical operation of the electric power systems including generation and grid planning, system optimization, asset valuation, competitive power markets and energy policy implications. Over 700 entities worldwide use our suite of software tools to assess the economics, performance, and reliability of interconnected power systems. Sr QA Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the testing of user interfaces across our web-based, data-driven engineering application. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing comprehensive test strategies, and ensuring that our user interfaces deliver an exceptional user experience. This role is ideal for a seasoned QA professional with a strong focus on UI testing and a passion for quality assurance.
Job Description
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Own medium-sized quality engineering tasks and delivers while mentoring and helping team members
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive UI testing strategies, Framework, and processes
- Define and maintain test coverage metrics for UI components and provide clear and actionable feedback to the development team to improve the quality and user experience of the UI
- Oversee the creation, maintenance, and execution of automated UI test scripts using tools such as Selenium, Cypress/WebdriverIO Automation Tool
- Excellent experience in document, and track software defects and testcases using software tools (e.g., Trello, Azure DevOps, Jira)
- Should be able to perform and develop test suites for simulation engine testing, REST API testing, browser-based user interface testing, performance, and load testing
- Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs) to ensure consistent performance and appearance across different environments.
- Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Trello, Azure DevOps, Jira
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, UX/UI designers to understand product requirements and provide timely feedback
- Facilitate and participate in code reviews and design discussions to ensure testability and UI quality
- Mentor and guide team members to develop their skills and knowledge in UI testing
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience in cloud technologies like Docker, Jenkins to execute Automations
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in software quality assurance working with a web-based application
- Strong Programming experience in JavaScript/Typescript or Java
- Good Experience in creating Automation Framework from scratch
- Experience in UI Test Automation using Selenium, Cypress/WebdriverIO Automation and specifically writing code in JavaScript and Java and should be able to develop the common functions
- Experience testing web services (SOAP/REST) and Cloud technologies
- Strong Experience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Cypress/WebdriverIO, Selenium with Cucumber framework
