JOB SUMMARY: Administrative Officer located in Boston National Historical Park, in the Administrative and Business Services Division. MAJOR DUTIES: As a member of the park management team, plans, analyzes and monitors the formulation and development of park-wide business plans, programs, procedures, operating policies, internal controls and program goals. These plans, policies and programs are characterized by a complex web of laws, regulations, and policies that are applied to business practices. Initiates business and administrative actions and studies on the basis of his/her own assessment of need, to assess the effectiveness of park operations, develop new programs, improve effectiveness, resolve problems, and other management actions that impact the park's mission. Maintains surveillance over the park's business systems to ensure maximum efficiencies and effectiveness in achieving mission success. Responsible for formulating and executing the park's budget and ensuring that revenues and spending are in balance through sound advice and supervision of the superintendent and staff of the Administration/Business Office dedicated to budget and financial management on a day-to-day basis. Responsible for formulating and executing agreements and other means to leverage goods and services the park requires to leverage its's mission and programs. Serves as the primary liaison with the Servicing Human Resources Office (SHRO), coordinating the identification and communication of needs and receipt of HR services from the SHRO.
