Position Responsibilities:
- Perform service calls at customer locations to repair batteries, chargers and battery handling equipment.
- Read documentation to research and troubleshoot issues.
- Ability to test batteries to diagnose, and analyze performance to ultimately make recommendation of battery performance.
- Move and maintain inventory of returned batteries, scrap batteries and customer batteries at the respective branch location.
- Complete and submit information for jobs worked on via tablet or hardcopy (time cards, maintenance reports with customers’ signature).
- Attend service training classes offered to maintain knowledge on new products, or for refreshers on products not encountered too often.
- Communicate with dispatcher and/or service office as to status of jobs and availability for new jobs.
- Identify jobs that should be sent to our shop for repair (due to complexity or safety reasons) and recommend they be sent in.
- Develop and maintain relationship with territory sales representatives to keep them informed of sales opportunities you might see.
- Assist with duties in the warehouse as required, or special projects as needed.
- Always adhere to safety rules and policies at all times.
Essential skills and experience:
- Must have very good skills in repairing and servicing batteries, chargers and related equipment, with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience.
- Mechanical and electrical knowledge.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Must be a good communicator – written and verbal.
- Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic computer proficiency and laptop fundamentals.
- Must own tools necessary to perform repairs, per our recommended tool list.
- Must have valid driver’s license and good driving record.
- Must be certified to operate material handling equipment.
