The Opportunity
Cemvita is looking for an operations-savvy Capital Projects Engineering Manager with a strong chemical engineering background to play a critical role in building our first commercial plant.
Responsibilities:
The Capital Projects Engineering Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction of our first commercial plant. This includes managing project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure successful project completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and project management, with experience in the Chemical Industry.
- Develop and manage project budgets and schedules.
- Oversee the planning and design of our first commercial plant; driving the engineering workflow and act as the main contact point with our EPC.
- Manage project resources, including personnel, third party vendors and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure project success.
- Provide regular project updates to senior management. Identify and mitigate project risks.
- Ensure that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or a related field
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience in project management/Capital Projects
- Experience in the Chemical Engineering industry.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully completing several capital projects end to end
- Track record of successfully implemented, revenue building commercial plants both domestic and overseas
- Ability to effectively manage EPC companies
- Understanding of the biotech industry and bioprocessing is an advantage
- Strong leadership and communication skills, including problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards
- Experience with project management software and methodologies
