The Opportunity
Cemvita is looking for an operations-savvy commercial leader in the renewable feedstock space to play a critical role in driving the strategy and product development of our Sustainable Oil.
Responsibilities
The Commercial Leader is responsible for driving the commercial strategy and growth of the organization leading up to building our first commercial plant. This position will lead product development, sales, marketing and client engagement:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy to achieve organizational goals.
- Collaborate with the executive team to align commercial activities with the company's vision.
- Market Analysis: Conduct renewable feedstock market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth. Leverage thought-leadership through proactive research about industry trends and customer preferences.
Product Offtakes:
- Build a commercial team to establish and secure offtakes for our sustainable oil as well as feedstock into our process, negotiate with industrial partners, and expand market share.
Product Development:
- Oversee the construction of Cemvita’s first commercial plant.
- Collaborate with product teams to develop and launch new products that meet market needs.
- Ensure alignment of product offerings with customer demands and corporate strategy.
Customer Engagement:
- Develop strategies to drive new customer engagements and relationships.
- Foster strong relationships with existing key customers and stakeholders.
- Implement strategies to enhance customer engagement.
Financial Oversight:
- Monitor financial performance (plant construction and revenue) and ensure alignment with commercial objectives.
- Develop budgets and forecasts for commercial operations.
Team Development:
- Build and lead a high-performing commercial team through coaching and mentorship.
- Build and promote a culture of Cemvita core values.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Provide regular reports to the CEO on commercial performance and market positioning.
- Utilize data analytics to inform strategic decisions.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 10-15 years of experience in a senior commercial role, in the renewable feedstock/ biofuels space.
- Proven track record of successfully commercializing products and securing capital for companies.
- In conjunction with the technical team be able to translate innovative R&D programs into profitable ventures and attracting investment.
- Strong understanding of renewable feedstocks and biofuels logistics, tax credits, and market.
- Strong experience overseeing and managing capital projects.
- Strong understanding of sales, marketing, and product development.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering background knowledge in industrial chemical plants is a plus.
- Ability to analyze data and market trends to make commercially viable decisions.
