JOB SUMMARY: A selectee receiving a first appointment to the Federal Government (Civil Service) is entitled only to the lowest step of the grade for which selected. This position is located at Independence National Historical Park, in the Facility Management Division. MAJOR DUTIES: MAJOR DUTIES: Performs all preventative maintenance, operational checks, repair, layout, installation, troubleshooting, tracing, locating defects, and modification on all new and existing electronic systems park wide. Incumbent must be able to appropriately apply the applicable standards, codes, and regulations, to select the correct materials and methods for installation, maintenance, repair, modification, or upgrade of covered systems. Plans and lays out the routing, placement, type and size of devices, fixtures, wire, etc. Establishes and maintains an extensive supply of parts, sensors, panels, wiring, etc. in order to facilitate maintenance of the different intrusion alarm systems and the intrusion two-way radio reporting system Park-wide. Responsible for performing initial acceptance testing of new fire alarm systems and all other systems certification testing required on an annual, biannual, or longer bases.
