Role SummaryAs a Staff SAP Developer, you will be responsible for leading and executing complex SAP development projects, providing technical expertise, and mentoring junior developers. You will play a key role in ensuring the successful implementation and optimization of our SAP systems, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our business processes. This role is located at our Normal, IL or Plymouth, MI office and reports directly to the Sr. Manager, ERP Development.
Responsibilities- Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of custom SAP solutions to support Sales and Service business processes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and functional teams to understand requirements, translate them into technical specifications and develop robust and scalable solutions that meet the needs of an exponentially growing organization.
- Provide technical support in resolving high-priority production incidents and partner with AMS teams in conducting RCA on recurring incidents and drive towards implementing permanent solutions.
- Operating in an agile environment, manage technical deliverables of the developers working across time-zones to ensure on-time and quality deliverables.
- Establish frameworks, accelerators, design patterns, and procedures to improve team velocity and ensure uniform and quality outcomes.
- Drive adoption of latest ABAP programming models and future SAP direction such as RAP, clean-core, SAP BTP ABAP, etc.
- Partner closely with the functional teams to provide high-level technical design on complex projects and breakdown into manageable tasks for effective planning and prioritization.
- Leveraging prior process and technical expertise, design solutions to seamlessly onboard new products and markets.
- Staying abreast with latest SAP technologies and socialize them with the extended teams through developing PoCs, identifying relevant use cases, conducting demos, etc.
Qualifications- 10+ years of experience as an SAP ABAP Developer, with at least 3 years in a lead role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field ( or equivalent work experience)
- Experienced in leading geographically distributed teams.
- Proven experience in establishing procedures and frameworks to incorporate development best practices.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to comprehend complex cross-functional business requirements and design robust and scalable solutions.
- Ability to create complex architectural and integration process flows diagrams to communicate effectively with stakeholders from business and technology teams.
- Must have prior experience in ABAP Development in all technical areas of SAP SD , and good to have experience in SAP VMS and Warranty modules.
- In-depth knowledge of ABAP to develop custom reports, enhancements (user-exits, BADIs, BTEs), interfaces (IDOCs, BAPI, ODATA, SOAP services), workflows, RFUI, and forms.
- Must have hands-on experience in developing at least some of the newer technologies such as Fiori, CDS views, AIF, SAP BTP, SAC, etc.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical topics to a wider audience.
- Prior exposure to SAP development in automotive or manufacturing sectors is desirable.
