Our Northeast Environmental business in New England is looking for an Environmental Team Leader to join their group. In this role, you will contribute to the future of our Environmental business, specifically our Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through Program Management, employee development/mentoring, recruiting, business group operations, technical and regulatory project engagement/strategy development, and liaising with our market facing environment team (e.g., business development).
In addition to this role, GHD’s Environmental Federal workload is increasing across the United States. You will play a significant role in executing this work as a Program Manager on Federal projects and developing project managers and enhancing processes to successfully deliver this work.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Team Leadership and Engagement:
- Manage a group of approximately 15-20 professionals, attending to utilization, performance and engagement
- Collaborate with Business Group leadership and other senior members of the business to drive positive outcomes for our employees
- Develop and mentor our young professionals and graduates
- Demonstrate support and compliance with the requirements of the GHD HSE Management system and management participation matrix
- Project Leadership: Serve as Program Manager and Project Director on private and Environmental Federal projects. These roles are accountable to both GHD management and client for delivering a successful project. The project responsibilities include the following:
- Understand the client’s expectations and help manage the client interface
- Lead strategy for development of and review of proposals
- Accountable for the delivery of the project to the client’s expectations and requirements
- Manage client expectations regarding project time, cost, quality and client contact frequency
- Client Relationships and Environmental Business Growth: Our strategic growth goals in the region include expanding our relationship with environmental clients in New England. You will be a part of this growth in the following ways:
- Working with Business Group and Market leadership, assist in business development, sales and marketing of Environmental projects
- Lead select pursuits and proposal development by providing technical input and content
- Build effective relationships with the Business Group’s key clients in this area
- Direct pricing, scoping and win strategies for new work
- Actively participate in professional and/or industrial organizations to promote the GHD brand
- Promote and cross sell other GHD services
What you will bring to the team:
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in environmental engineering, geology, environmental science or related field
- PE or PG will be highly regarded, LSP a plus
- At least 15 years of experience in environmental consulting including environmental permitting & compliance, remediation & design, site assessments, report writing, data management & interpretation, project coordination, and managing clients
- Project experience in federal contracts beneficial
- Experience in coordinating and simultaneously managing multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail in a consulting environment is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification a plus
- Ability and willingness to travel client meetings and offices where team members you manage are located is required
