The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at NTU is seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team. We are looking for a Research Fellow with experience in working with flame retardant materials and/or EV battery thermal runaway and propagation behaviors.
Key Responsibilities:
Work within the framework of the project to achieve and go beyond the project objectives.
Understand the approaches for fire safety strategies involving EV batteries, extinguishing methodologies and forensic investigations.
Expected to interact and closely work within a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
Expected to display a very high degree of professional ethics
Understand the safety issues while working with EV batteries and fire protection materials.
Job Requirements:
PhD in relevant engineering or science disciplines is required;
Relevant experience (flame retardant materials, thermal runaway aspects of batteries, etc.) is significant advantage.
The candidate is expected to be an expert in the handling/processing of polymeric materials.
The candidate is required to understand battery chemistry and associated thermal degradation mechanisms.
Flame retardancy background is considered as a huge positive.
