The Role:
As a Meyer Burger Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be part of a company helping drive the global transition to sustainable energy. Reporting to the Head of Production, this shift-based position will play a crucial role in overseeing and supporting the implementation of our safety policies and procedures throughout the facility. Your contribution to our vision (responsibilities):
- Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of safety policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions and drills for employees to foster a safe working environment.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and determine preventative measures for the future.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities.
- Collaborate with the EHS Manager and other department heads to develop strategies to improve safety and environmental performance.
- Assist in managing the facility's waste disposal program and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Support the implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Monitor and report on key EHS performance indicators and assist in preparing reports for senior management.
- Stay informed about the latest industry trends, techniques, and regulations in environmental health and safety.
- Assist with new hire safety training.
- Partners with peers, supervisors, leads, and other resources across departments to address and solve critical safety issues in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or manager.
- Position will require flexibility working atleast 1 day per weekend.
You bring:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Commitment to safety to promote a safe environment.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- First Aid and CPR/AED Certified.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA General Industry Standards (OSHA Construction Standards a plus).
- 1-3 years related manufacturing experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to team culture.
- Language skills: English.
A Plus:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Experienced ramping a greenfield manufacturing site.
- Bilingual/ Spanish or other foreign language skills.
