SP Energy Networks (SPEN) is transforming its Telecoms function. Telecoms are a key part of the network’s business and a cornerstone in the evolution towards Net Zero.
Reporting to the Head of Telecoms, the Operations and Delivery Manager has responsibility for ScottishPower Energy Networks (SPEN) Telecoms Network including Capital Delivery and Operations.
This is an exciting role as a leader to enable a new telecoms operating model with enhanced operations capabilities . You’ll be accountable for 24x7 operational integrity, cyber security resilience, reliable performance, and high availability of Telecoms services and assets.
What you’ll be doing
As the Ops and Delivery manager, you’ll be responsible for the SGO-Telecoms Operations and Delivery function and all sub-teams, as well as line management responsibility of Telecoms lead engineers.
You’ll collaborate with lead Telecom engineers to ensure consistency across the network, report on progression of Telecoms activities to management and ensure workload is managed and progressed to meet requirements.
Responsibilities of the Ops and Delivery Manager will include but not limited too.
- Review and set Telecoms CAPEX/OPEX Budget in line with Regulatory Outputs
- Report on SLA, CAPEX, OPEX delivery to Head of SGO
- Higher point of escalation for the SPEN business
- Responsible for all Telecoms contractors
- Represents Telecoms at a Senior Level within the business and at a Global level
This role will involve travel to other ScottishPower locations.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for candidates with a degree in electrical, electronic or telecoms engineering or relevant discipline. With a minimum of 5 years demonstrable management experience, including leading and managing teams in an operational, regulatory, change or project management environment.
A delivery manager, comfortable leading and managing complex issues in a fast faced environment with short and demanding timescales.
You’ll have broad experience in an Operations and OT/IT environment, with technical expertise across telecom networks, architecture, equipment, and vendors.
Be highly numerate with strong financial acumen and able to manage budgets, plus a background in contract, project, and SLA management.
A confident communicator, with strong interpersonal skills, able to influence at senior stakeholder level.
