Essential Functions:
Demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives in the field of thermal performance cycle modeling and methods development. Integrates and develops thermal performance modeling and software development processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within thermal performance modeling of combined cycle power plants and related equipment.
- Identify, develop, evaluate, and introduce engineering solutions to meet near term and long range engineering needs as they relate to thermal performance modeling of combined cycle power plants
- Remains cognizant of state-of-the-art in engineering software development, maintenance, and security techniques
- Provide technical consultation on combined cycle performance modeling methods throughout the business including new unit and aftermarket ITR project execution
- Assist team with Technical rigor to develop safe, high quality products while being actively Engaged during design process
- Lead and provide the key technical direction to large projects with critical business impact.
- Maintain an active role in developing and defining the state of the art in combined cycle thermal performance evaluation tools and methods in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop technologies for product introduction, quality, performance, cost improvements and problem resolution in meeting current and future business needs including adherence to schedules and estimated costs.

- Provide technical consultation to cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product center, supplier, or field issues.
- Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters.
- Use knowledge and expertise to market winning proposals in anticipation of business product needs.
- Prepare invention disclosures to protect technology that gives the business a competitive advantage, as well as protecting the intellectual property rights of the company.
- Be a Helpful resource to all levels of engineering team and encourage dialogue between all groups
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science or equivalent studies or experience
- Significant experience in an engineering capacity
Desired Characteristics:
- Advanced understanding of software programming in one or more of the following languages: Fortran, Python, C#, C++, VB, PERL, JAVA
- Significant experience in gas turbine, steam turbine or combined cycle performance modeling
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business
- Problem analysis and resolution skills
- Demonstrated leadership in defining the state of the art in at least one technical specialty, along with the ability to teach and set standard practices within thermodynamic cycle modeling of combined cycle power plants
For U.S. based candidates only, for purposes of complying with U.S. pay transparency requirements, the base pay range for this position is $127,900- 213,100 USD Annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 15% Annual bonus structure.
