Key Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase parts and equipment required for construction projects, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors. Negotiate contracts and terms to secure the best deals and quality.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage the ordering process to avoid shortages and overstock situations.
- Conduct market research and cost analysis to determine the most cost-effective solutions for procurement.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data. Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Work closely with project managers and other team members to understand equipment and parts requirements for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Place purchase orders and follow up on order status, including tracking shipments and resolving any issues with deliveries.
- Evaluate supplier performance and reliability. Conduct regular assessments to ensure that suppliers meet quality and service standards.
- Monitor and manage purchasing budgets to ensure expenditures remain within approved limits. Prepare reports on procurement activities and spending.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to procurement activities, including supply chain disruptions and quality issues.
- Draft and manage contracts with suppliers, including terms and conditions, delivery schedules, and pricing agreements.
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with legal, regulatory, and industry standards.
- Utilize procurement software and tools to streamline processes, track orders, and manage supplier information.
- Generate and analyze reports on purchasing activities, inventory levels, and supplier performance to provide insights for decision-making.
- Assist in training new team members on procurement processes and company policies. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Address and resolve any issues related to procurement, such as disputes with suppliers or discrepancies in orders.
- Participate in strategic planning meetings to align procurement strategies with company goals and project needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum three (3) years of experience as a Purchasing Agent or in a similar procurement role.
- Experience with Heavy Equipment and Construction required.
- Strong negotiation skills and excellent organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suites, including Word, Excel, and MAC Suites, is required.
- Proficiency in HCSS or Adobe Acrobat is preferred.
- Familiarity with construction parts, equipment, and industry standards.
- Valid Hawaii Driver's License.
Compensation: $36-$40 per hour, based on experience.
