JOB SUMMARY: This position is located in Gateway National Recreation Area, in the Division Chief of Planning, Project & Asset Management. This is a term position (more than 1 year) with an initial appointment to last at least 13 months but may be extended up to a total of nine years. This term appointment is in support of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA), National Parks and Public Lands Legacy Restoration Fund (LRF). Term positions do not convey permanent status in the Federal service. MAJOR DUTIES: Provide project management services for multiple design and construction projects using industry recognized project control measures. Act as technical point of contact on projects when assigned. Write scopes of work, independent government cost estimates, technical evaluations, and make recommendations to the Contracting Officer. Analyze and negotiate contractor's price proposals, secure purchase requests, and prepare solicitation package for Contracting. Routinely walk construction sites to provide construction observation, confirm project progress, and ensure work commensurate with the contract. You may be required to travel overnight away from home up to 5 nights per month. You must obtain a government charge card for travel purposes.
