Role SummaryThe Sr. Remanufacturing Engineering Technician II role bridges Engineering and Operations teams. The Remanufacturing engineering team in Kentucky is responsible for designing and maintaining the remanufacturing capability of remanufactured products throughout the entire service lifecycle. The Technical operations team are the experts in the tools, processes, and inter-team resources needed to consistently meet Remanufacturing goals. Our Remanufacturing team members achieve success through task ownership, strong partnerships, integrity and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be highly organized, able to manage dynamic priorities and have a drive to continuously learn.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostics using a combination of technical understanding of Rivian, experience with integrated automotive systems, use of specialized diagnostic tools, and an understanding of logged vehicle data to arrive at likely causes for reported concerns.
- Producing high quality documentation in both Remanufacturing Operational and Engineering document systems.
- Communicate cross-functionally with logistics personnel in support of operational needs specific to pre-diagnostic supported repair planning.
- Produce plans for continuing diagnostics or repairs using data collected through diagnostic information systems, with an emphasis on interpreting connected vehicle data.
- Evaluate and perform repairs to concerns that have been determined to be safe and effectively performed
- Ensure an industry leading repair experience through skilled diagnostics and excellent communication of the diagnostic/repair plan with all appropriate cross-functional teams.
- Work closely with operation teams to train and empower agents in conducting live diagnostics.
- Create a culture of collaboration with individuals, cross functional teams, and leadership by encouraging feedback and open communication.
- Hours of operation are business partner focused and are expected to reflect current operational needs.
Qualifications- 4+ years of experience in automotive industry or automotive repair (Fleet experience is a plus), with an emphasis on mechanical, thermal, electrical, data processing and systems integration.
- Familiarity with terminal interfaces, scripting languages and experience reading/writing computer code a plus.

- Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners
- Experience with logistics or parts ordering systems
- Experience analyzing large data sets.
- Competent computer and typing skills.
- Appropriate interpersonal style and communication needed to work effectively with internal and external partners.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Ability to support cross-functional teams both remotely and through on-site interactions.
- Extremely detail oriented.
- International / Cross Platform / Multi-brand and EV experience
- Experience in a Start-up environment
- A.S.E. Certifications – Current (or prior) is a plus.
- Minimum age of 21
- No driving related suspensions or revocation of Driver License (within a 3-5 year period)
- Ability to read and speak fluent English
- No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years
- No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years
- Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle
- Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring
- Ability to stand for 8-10 hours per day
- Frequent use of hands to handle or feel material during quality inspections and performing day to day responsibilities
- Occasionally required to climb, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Required to communicate using telephone and/or e-mail
- Ability to read, view, and interpret documents such as safety rules, SOPs, and repair instructions
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to perform all duties in a working environment that may contain dust, high noise levels, hot and cold weather
