Job Description
Sompo is seeking a Sustainability Analyst for our Sustainability team in our New York, NY or London office.

As a Sustainability Analyst, you will play a crucial role in advancing our ESG strategies and initiatives. You will work closely with teams throughout the organization to manage Sompo’s exposure to climate change risk, develop an ESG approach, and execute initiatives that align with our commitment to sustainability.
What you’ll be doing:
Supporting the Head of Sustainability by developing and executing sustainability strategies and policies for Sompo and our subsidiary companies
Managing the internal communications and socialization of sustainability principles including the development of educational materials
Identifying creative ways to balance business obligations with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals
Proposing strategies to address environmental concerns, such as energy usage and recycling
Supporting various corporate sustainability initiatives, for example the integration of sustainability principles in employees’ day-to-day work
Actively communicating and building relationships with key stakeholders, including Sompo Holdings’ sustainability department
Designing and delivering presentations reporting on sustainability progress to key stakeholders, committees, and boards
Ensuring that Sompo companies are in compliance with local climate change and sustainability-related regulatory requirements
Collaborating closely with internal teams, such as communications and risk, to drive strategies and initiatives
Maintaining awareness of current sustainability best practices, laws, and regulations
What you’ll bring:
Minimum 8-10 years of experience in financial services and at least 2 years’ of experience in a sustainability related role
Proficiency in strategic thinking, proactive problem-solving, and innovative approaches to develop creative solutions and achieve desired business results
Ability to effectively communicate information and ideas to senior leaders and executives
Skilled at cultivating strong interpersonal relationships to facilitate collaboration and teamwork
Undergraduate degree or demonstrable industry experience
Salary Range: $115,000 - $150,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
