CSI Recruiting is working with a leading upstream oil & gas company (E&P) in their immediate need for an experienced Environmental Specialist to concentrate on Air Permitting, Air Compliance and Reporting. You'll work at this firm's corporate headquarters and be a key member of the EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) team.
The Role:
The Senior Environmental Specialist - Air Permitting provides air compliance and environmental support to the company's extensive E&P operations. In this role you will oversee the firm's air permitting and compliance program. This position requires the capacity to manage various priorities and multiple tasks allowing broad exposure to federal, state, and local air, water and waste regulations.
Requirements
PRIMARY ROLE/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with available emission calculation tools and software to assist in air permitting evaluation.
- Analyze the air permitting data and develop air quality compliance protocols related to permitting and federal standards that include but are not limited to monitoring, testing, record-keeping, and reporting for tank batteries, SWDs and CO2 recycling facilities.
- Establish systems for continuous compliance with all applicable air quality regulations across company assets.
- Effectively communicate with field and corporate operations personnel on the air permitting requirements subject to their facilities and assist with field implementation of compliance programs and procedures across all assets.
- Support corporate tracking programs for air quality compliance related to state
- Permitting (Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Texas), federal regulations and air emission events. Work with assets to ensure program usage and compliance.
- Monitor and maintain HSE software programs/databases, input historical data.
- Support monthly and annual HSE statistical reports.
- Maintain and build positive relationships with field operations, regulatory agencies and consultants.
- Other duties as assigned by HSE Director. Although not the focus, should be prepared to support a broad range of HSE functions.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology or Geology required; High school diploma required.
- Minimum experience of 4 years working in environmental compliance, air permitting and/or management.
- Possess a strong understanding of state and federal air permits related to upstream O&G operations and associated compliance requirements. Should have knowledge of associated federal regulations such as NSPS JJJJ, NESHAP, ZZZZ, and NSPS OOOO/OOOOa, b & c.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience in oil and gas production, midstream, or refining is strongly preferred.
- Certificates in ProMax, HazWOPER, E&P Tanks, Water9, Glycalc, and Dispersion Modeling preferred.
- Preferred experience with environmental sustainability protocols and knowledge of total emissions (Scope 1, 2 and 3) inputs and quantification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, planning, process improvement and organizational skills are required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with team members at all levels required.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
