About the Role
Drive AIA Singapore’s ESG Strategy with internal and external stakeholders, in the following 5 pillars : Health & Wellness, Sustainable Investment, Sustainable Operations, People & Culture as well as Effective Governance.
As a Corporate Sustainability Specialist in the Sustainability Department in AIA Singapore (“AIASG”), we formulate AIASG’s ESG long term Strategy, set shorter term action plans, track our progress against SBTi targets, design ESG dashboards, drive internal and external engagements as well as responsible for external and internal reporting. In addition, the Corporate Sustainability Specialist will drive capability building, internal stakeholder awareness as well as employee engagement and training programs.
The Corporate Sustainability Specialist will report to the Head of ESG who is AIASG’s Chief Investment Officer, and have responsibility for the following:
- Act as subject matter expert in performing the analysis, producing content and coordinating all necessary efforts to generate and publish AIASG’s Sustainability Report.
- In charge of all staff training on ESG related topics together with HR, internal stakeholder engagements and group wide sustainability programs such as AIA CAN.
- Lead agency engagement with Tied Distribution to uplift agents' capability in sustainability topics, trends and knowledge.
- Oversee the stakeholder engagement strategy, collaborating with functions to enhance internal and external communications on sustainability, as well as to advance AIASG’s sustainability goals and profile among stakeholders
- In charge of internal ESG portal in terms of developing, designing, producing and updating the contents for the all-in-one ESG resource hub for AIASG.
- In charge of internal ESG dashboard to capture the use of energy/water/waste to support scope 1/2 GHG emissions, the process against SBTi for scope 3 for a holistic view of our progression towards Net Zero commitment by 2050.
- Support implementation plans and enhancements against our overall capabilities to meet all the regulatory requirements and expectations such as the Environmental Risk Management Guidelines for Insurers.
- Co-lead external communications in ESG activities and developments in AIASG to raise awareness, improve our branding in supporting the overall ESG ambition and Healthier, Longer and Better Lives principle.
- Support ESG Management Committee Secretariat duties as well as quality management reporting to the Board.
- Support Group Sustainability programmes and initiatives, as needed
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a stakeholder engagement related role
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in any discipline
- Experience in developing different types of communication content and materials such as newsletters, case studies, media releases, websites, reports, slide decks, and resource documents
- Skilled communicator with experience in developing positive stakeholder engagement initiatives and securing buy-in from a diverse range of partners and stakeholders
- Fluency in English is a must; excellent English language writing and editing skills are essential for this role
- Credentials and training in sustainability and ESG areas would be a plus
- Experience in ESG and / or sustainability within corporates, financial institutions or consulting firms would be a plus
- Team player with strong organisational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to initiate, organise, coordinate and prioritise a wide range of deliverables
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong proactive and learning agility
