VELUX is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced colleague who shares our commitment to improve indoor environments and drive the green transition in the building sector.
You will become part of the VELUX Group’s knowledge centre on Daylight, Energy, and Indoor Climate (DEIC), which is one of the teams in the function Buildings of the Future in VELUX’ Products & Innovation division. DEIC is a diverse and international team of 10 specialists who are excited about using our knowledge on sustainable building design and the impact of daylight and fresh air on human health and well-being to influence the buildings of tomorrow in a healthier, more sustainable direction.
What you will do
Your expertise in sustainable buildings and willingness to share it will be vital for us, by taking our efforts to a new level in a setting where every voice is valued and heard. You will also play an important role in laying the groundwork for securing the long-term relevance of the VELUX Group and our products for years to come.
Your enthusiasm for developing and sharing knowledge, combined with your curious, forward-thinking, solution-oriented approach, will enable you to contribute to the team most as you drive new projects for our knowledge centre.
You will work out of the VELUX Group headquarter in Hørsholm and report to the Director of Daylight, Energy, and Indoor Climate.
Your primary responsibilities
Towards internal stakeholders:
Engage with different relevant teams in VELUX (product development, product management, public affairs, marketing etc.) and contribute to the business with knowledge on daylight, energy, indoor climate and sustainability
Translate your knowledge into insights at the right level of detail to inform strategic decisions across the organization
Structure our internal support together with the team, enabling DEIC to maximize impact by bringing the right insights to the right projects
Engage with stakeholders at all levels, scope and manage tasks and communicate insights and implications
Towards external stakeholders:
Keep up-to-date on developments in the building industry and research particularly in the academic field (in particular technology and building design trends) in order to ensure the relevance of our offering towards architects, engineers and construction professionals (AECs)
Support the creation of digital tools towards AECs based on industry insights.
Contribute to ensuring that DEIC knowledge and tools reach our professional customers
Identify the need for, and help initiate, new partnerships with industry or research players on DEIC-relevant activities and topics, in collaboration with the Buildings of the Future Business Development team
Engage with the building sector, for example via presentations and public speaking
Who you are
We are looking for you who have at least 3 years of relevant working experience e.g. as consultant in the building sector.
We will come to know you as an inspiring team player who wants to make a difference and has the willingness to share knowledge across functions. You know how to navigate in a global organisation, balancing patience with the urge to move things through and show results.
You understand that engaging and collaborating with the right people is crucial and you are able to build a network with internal and external stakeholders. You have advanced interpersonal and communication skills and can clearly communicate complex ideas and information to other people in a understandable way. You take responsibility for your own tasks, take initiative and carry projects through together with the team.
Moreover, we expect that you:
Have a relevant master’s degree, e.g. Civil Engineer, Architectural Engineer or Architecture, with expertise within daylight, indoor climate, energy performance of buildings and/or sustainability
Have experience that has provided you with a good understanding of the roles and processes in the building industry and a solid business understanding
Are fluent in written and spoken English.
Can travel approximately 10-15 days annually, primarily within Europe.
