B.S. Degree in Environmental, Chemical or Civil Engineering or an equivalent technical related degree.
Responsibilities:
- Experience with Air Major Source Title V Permitting and Reporting.
- Manage hazardous waste storage and removal systems to assure compliance with applicable regulations of a RCRA Large Quantity Generator, including with all DOT hazardous materials regulations for proper shipment of hazardous waste.
- Experience of management of change processes (MOC) and how to implement within EHS programs.
- Manage the facility’s CWA, SPCC, and SWPPP applicable spill plans, permits, inspections, and regulatory reports.
- Experience in submitting RCRA Biennial, EPCRA TRI, and Tier II reports.
- Manage all aspects of ISO 14001 EMS conformance and auditing at the facility.
- Identify areas of waste generation to improve waste reduction and landfill diversion, in line with corporate goals.
- Develop the facility’s safety and environmental training requirements.
- Support the activities of the plant through effective communication with operations and/or outside agencies.
- Collaborate with corporate management in development and implementation of company-wide safety and environmental programs, policies, and practices.
- Assure employee involvement in overall safety, health, and environmental programs at all levels.
- Perform plant-wide assessments of the safety, health, and environmental systems for effectiveness and conformance.
- Introduce new safety and environmental policies and practices as they become necessary, for management consideration.
- In conjunction with the facility financial staff, coordinate annual budget activities and assure that accurate reports to management are produced.
- Establish and maintain the facility Environmental, Health and Safety policy manuals.
- Coordinate EPA, OSHA, and DOT compliance activities in conjunction with the corporate staffs and provides regular reports to management regarding compliance status, the cost of compliance, and the results of inspections.
- Participate in the facility-wide assessment programs with the support of corporate staffs to assure that plant programs are effectively controlling exposures to loss and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ensure development of comprehensive local aspects including environmental program activities that can be integrated into the environmental management system.
- Facilitate the implementation and improvement of local aspects of the environmental management system.
- Manage EHS Corrective & Preventive Action process to ensure all local open issues are brought to closure.
- Report on the local compliance status regarding the Pilkington safety and environmental management systems.
- Ensure Union VP is trained and competent to undertake all EHS duties assigned.
- Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
