The Chattanooga Zoo is looking for a dynamic Events & Facilities Rental Coordinator with a passion for working with guests and staff to coordinate, plan, and implement events, daytime attendance drivers, and awareness days.
This position is also responsible for oversight on the day of the events, awareness days, and Zoo facilities rentals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS will include planning, coordinating, and oversight of Zoo special events, awareness days, and daytime attendance drivers consistent with the Zoo's mission; oversight and day-of execution for facility rentals; managing supplies and records; soliciting donations and sponsorships for special events; maintaining relationships with vendors, customers and internal staff to successfully facilitate all facets of event management, operations and logistics.

Minimum Qualifications
- Two (2) years of experience in event planning and execution plus two (2) years in customer service / public facing roles
- Two (2) years college coursework in business management, nonprofit administration, hospitality, or guest experiences related field (preferred)
- Any combination of equivalent education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position will be considered

Licensing & Certifications
Physical Requirements
Light: Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a
negligible amount of force to constantly move objects. This position requires sitting or standing for long
periods of time, but also may require movement across Zoo grounds
Physical Environment: This position is generally required to perform work within an office setting and occasionally exposed to
external elements which include heat/cold, wet/humid, dry/arid and extreme weather conditions.
