Overview
The Sales Engineer for Solar Projects plays a crucial role in our organization, being responsible for driving the sales of solar project solutions in the Perungudi area. They are instrumental in identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities within the solar sector. This role holds significant importance as it directly impacts the growth and success of our business in the sustainable energy market.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for solar projects in the Perungudi area.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing customers to understand their solar energy needs.
- Present and demonstrate solar project solutions to prospective customers, highlighting the technical aspects and benefits.
- Collaborate with the technical team to customize solar solutions based on customer requirements.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and contracts to potential clients.
- Negotiate terms and close sales, ensuring a positive experience for the customer.
- Manage and track sales activities, opportunities, and customer interactions using CRM software.
- Provide post-sales support, including coordinating installation, addressing customer queries, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technical developments, and competitor offerings in the solar energy sector.
- Participate in industry events, trade shows, and other networking opportunities to promote solar solutions and expand the customer base.
- Contribute to the development of marketing strategies and materials for solar projects.
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure seamless execution of sold projects.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify growth areas and business expansion opportunities.
- Meet and exceed sales targets and contribute to the overall revenue growth of the organization.
- Adhere to sales processes, pricing guidelines, and ethical standards set by the organization.
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, or Renewable Energy disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in technical sales, preferably within the solar energy or renewable energy industry.
- Proven track record of successfully selling complex technical solutions to commercial and industrial customers.
- In-depth understanding of solar energy systems, including PV modules, inverters, mounting structures, and related components.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple solar project opportunities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and sales analytics tools to manage and track customer interactions and opportunities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, project management, and marketing.
- Sound business acumen with the ability to negotiate contracts and close sales while ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify and capitalize on emerging trends and market opportunities within the solar energy sector.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess customer requirements and recommend tailored solar solutions.
- Commitment to staying updated on industry advancements, regulations, and best practices in the solar energy field.

- Ability to travel within the designated sales territory as needed.

Candidates with previous experience in Solar Industry are preferred.
