Our Design Team:The Venterra design service line supports clients for both fixed and floating offshore wind projects with a range of specialist services covering hydrodynamics, Mooring, cables, structural and geotechnical design. We are a team of engineers, mostly Mater’s or PhD qualified, that support clients on a broad range of specialist topics in the area of foundation and cable design for offshore wind with innovative solutions.
Role Description:As a Senior Loads team leader, you have an extensive experience on metocean data treatment, Offshore wind turbine modeling, ILA tool chain development and site-specific load assessment performance and management.
In your role, you will create, develop and manage an engineering team dedicated to integrated load analysis.
It is expected that you will provide technical support to tenders and projects and that you will support and mentor the career development of your team. This role is pivotal in our design activities related to both fixed and floating offshore wind projects.
Key responsibilities will also include:- ILA team development including setup of ILA processes, Pre and post-processing tool chain.
- ILA team management, recruitment and team training.
- Equivalent wind turbine model creation and calibration, including fixed and floating controller development.
- Metocean data review and interpretation.
- Wind data interpretation and Wind design input setup, including site specific wind farm wind analysis.
- Independent load calculations using aero-elastic codes like Open Fast, OrcaFlex and Bladed.
- Experience with load assessment for floating substructures is a must.
- Project management from tenders to project certification
- Assist with the review and checking of contracts for engineering work.
Expertise required:- A profound understanding of structural dynamics, aeroelastics, control, meteorological and oceanographic
- Demonstrated experience in ILA and perfect knowledge of ILA software and applicable standards (IEC, DNV)
- Demonstrated experience in project execution and Offshore wind farm certification.
- Solid general wind turbine knowledge
- Fluency in written and spoken English, French appreciated.
Education/ Qualifications:- M.Sc. degree or higher in mechanical engineering, physics or a related discipline
