Purpose
As Assistant Project Manager, you will be required to search, identify, evaluate and secure new sites across the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland, growing an organic pipeline of renewable energy projects consisting of onshore wind, solar and energy storage, capable of allowing ScottishPower Renewables to meet its ambitious strategic growth targets.
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be liaising and co-ordinating with teams of consultants and land agents to initially identify sites, develop site potential, assess site feasibility and secure projects under initial contract, you will also support the Head of Origination with site evaluation strategy, agent performance reviews, process and procedural reviews, standardisation and compatibility assessment, budgeting and timely delivery of feasible projects within acceptable risk parameters.
Responsibilities
Undertake site search and feasibility work including land title referencing, preparing or arranging preliminary layouts, assessments of grid, access and energy resource for all technologies, you will be required to support the successful negotiation, completion and coordination of exclusivity agreements and land contracts with landowners and agents.
Undertaking internal project and agent reporting/auditing, including performance analysis, you will lead in the tendering, appointment, instruction and effective management of land agents/consultants through the site evaluation and feasibility process.
Carrying out due diligence and submission documents for tender bids, you will provide ad-hoc advice and due diligence on property matters in relation to any acquisition opportunities, explore and maximise development opportunity on new sites and build, maintain and retain effective stakeholder relationships.
Keeping the Origination Team fully apprised of opportunities, ensuring all internal knowledge is captured via established data channels, you will also report on trends and opportunities against requirements of the pipeline and the business model.
Ensuring all key decisions are supported by sufficient due diligence and investigation, you will take a proactive approach to health and safety management including development of pretender/development plans and completion of audits and actions.
What you’ll bring
Educated to degree level and/or possessing a professional qualification, preferably related to land/property, energy or sustainable development, you will hold up to date renewables technical and market knowledge.
With a clear understanding of the key requirements to evaluate prospective sites, you will possess experience in working to deliver pipeline projects through to development, coordinating a network of agents and stakeholders and understand land agreements and land negotiations.
Able to understand large data analysis/management for reporting and auditing, you will also be required to hold Health and Safety knowledge and awareness.
Using GIS packages (and other standard PC packages) and be able to read and interpret maps, you will be able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
A full driving licence is required.
