Job Summary:
The Manager – OSW Projects (Systems Integration) is a key role within the Offshore Renewables Business, belonging to the New England Wind Engineering Team, and under the guidance of the global Systems Integration Lead globally, this role is responsible for the delivery of the Systems Integration scope of the New England Wind projects, which is comprised of SCADA, Telecommunications, Protection, Metering, Control and Security scopes of the offshore windfarm, both onshore and offshore. The selected candidate is in charge of the management of the Systems Integration’s team and the selected contractors to secure the delivery of this complex and multidisciplinary scope. As such, the selected candidate will have to oversee the strategy definition, design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and hand-over to O&M of these critical scopes.

As a pivotal member of the Project Leadership Team, you will shape delivery strategies, manage contracts, oversee logistics, and lead offshore contractors, all while ensuring top-tier quality and H&SE standards. Your role will be integral to our global offshore business organization, with activities spanning the US and multiple countries worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership and Coordination: Spearhead the delivery of key work scopes or project functions, ensuring seamless coordination among stakeholders and compliance with applicable requirements. You’ll work alongside functions such as Quality, H&S, Engineering, Construction, Supply&Expediting, T&I, Commissioning, Project Controls, Contract Management, Legal, and Procurement.
• Project Management: Drive project to completion on time, within budget, and to the highest HSE and quality standards. Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts, contributing directly to Avangrid Renewable’s strategy.
• Organizational Management: Design and manage a robust organizational structure for the respective scope, effectively utilizing resources primarily across Europe (UK, Germany, France, Spain) and the USA. Ensure effective communication and collaboration across international teams.
• Strategic Advice: Provide strategic delivery advice, conduct risk assessments, and offer recommendations throughout the project lifecycle. Influence bid levels, program strategies, and commercial agreements to maximize value and secure funding.
• Risk Management: Manage effectively project risks, specifically those intrinsic to the offshore wind industry, including marine weather, vessel availability, and supply chain challenges.
• Standards and Practices: Implement offshore standards, procedures, tools, and best practices for large-scale projects, specifically offshore wind projects.
• Continuous Improvement: Capture and share lessons learned from offshore delivery projects, establishing feedback loops and best practices to enhance business value. Implement innovations in offshore wind technology and construction methodologies.
• Project Leadership: Act as a core member of the Project Leadership Team, making key project and strategic decisions to ensure optimal investment value. Lead by example, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications:
• Experience: 8+ years of proven project management experience in a delivery-oriented environment of large-scale capital/energy projects in Systems Integration Scopes.
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences or other relevant engineering discipline.
• People Management: Effective management of diverse, multinational teams, including joint venture (JV) structures. Ability to manage remote teams and foster a collaborative work environment.
• Delivery and Contracting: Competence in planning, tendering processes, contracting management, contract negotiations, and delivery of multi-million-dollar contracts up to the hand-over to O&M. Experience in managing packages and contracts requiring precise coordination across multiple disciplines.
• Experience of leading teams involved in multidisciplinary work packages in international environments, specifically for the areas of SCADA, Telecommunications, Protections and Control, as well as cybersecurity compliance.
• Experience in managing interfaces with corporate team such as: IT, OT, Networks, Fire Protection and Physical Security, and Cybersecurity.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in offshore wind farms, marine works, or oil and gas delivery and operations.
• A Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (PMP, PE) are preferred.
• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Knowledge of HSE legislation related to delivery, marine, and offshore key packages. Familiarity with offshore safety standards such as the Global Wind Organization (GWO).
• Interpersonal Skills: Strong relationship management skills, including working with senior leadership and external stakeholders.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills to influence key project and business decisions. Proficiency in report writing and summarizing key parameters impacting projects and business.
• Team Coordination: Ability organize, manage, and ultimately lead teams for package delivery.
• Problem-Solving and Innovation: Anticipate problems and implement mitigating solutions. Innovate and think creatively to address conflicting requirements.
• Tenacity and Determination: Persistence in overcoming obstacles to achieve project goals.
