Job Summary: The company is looking to recruit an ambitious and energetic Asset Acquisition Structurer who will help candi to lead the revolution of solar. Given that candi is taking solar into a new realm with a new set of tools, the role will require creativity, innovation and a new way of thinking.
Specifically, the job involves taking a prominent role in the following, as part of a Global function:
- Managing asset and/or SPV acquisition transactions, including negotiation, due diligence, financial modelling, coordinating stakeholders, legal documentation and any aspect requiring attention (e.g. accounting, tax, regulations, etc.) in order to bring transactions to a successful close
- Transaction management of Open Access or utility scale deals in India, working closely with Business Development, Risk, Engineering, Finance and Asset Management in order to successfully close these deals
- Performing financial, structuring and legal analysis on target deals to come up with optimal solutions for candi and clients / sellers
- Helping to define and execute on a strategy for accessing more asset acquisitions leads across candi’s geographical reach
- Reviewing and negotiating legal documentation with external parties as required
- Developing candi’s processes and tools (financial models, template legal documentation, etc) for asset / portfolio acquisition activities.
Location: Gurgaon, Mumbai, Mohali, Bangalore or Pune (combined with working from home)
Hours: Full time.
Job Requirements:
- 10+ years of relevant experience in M&A / financial structuring at a financial institution, corporate or law firm
- Several years of experience structuring captive / group captive open access, utility scale or rooftop solar projects in India
- An affinity for numbers and quantitative matters, being very comfortable with financial models (i.e. proficient in excel)
- A solid understanding of financial risks
- Experience with legal documentation – i.e. an ability to review contracts and some experience in negotiating them with third parties
- Being at ease with coordinating and interacting with various stakeholders (internal and external)
- Being good at juggling multiple transactions and projects at the same time
- Some understanding of solar financial products under the PPA (or similar) model is a plus
- A track record of thriving in a fast-paced environment and an ability to work towards and hit KPIs
- Being a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Being very comfortable working in the digital realm, using tools such as Microsoft Office / Google suite and other remote working tools
- Excellent written and spoken English required, additional languages are a plus
- A degree in finance, business, law or related qualifying experience
