Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Leadership & Management:
- Lead the Quality Department, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
- Develop, implement, and maintain an effective Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Manage a team of quality engineers, inspectors, and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Quality Management System (QMS):
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory, industry, and customer requirements.
- Oversee the development, documentation, and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to quality.
- Conduct regular audits of the QMS and drive corrective actions to address non-conformities.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Monitor and improve the quality of raw materials, in-process products, and final blades through rigorous testing and inspection processes.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for quality and regularly report on performance to senior management.
- Lead root cause analysis for any quality-related issues and drive the implementation
Quality Circles & Continuous Improvement:
- Implement and facilitate quality circles, encouraging employee participation in problem-solving and process improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by leading initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and improve manufacturing efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process optimization and cost reduction.
Customer & Supplier Interface:
- Act as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters with customers and suppliers.
- Lead customer audits and manage customer complaints, ensuring timely resolution and continuous communication.
Training & Development:
- Develop and implement training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the quality team and other plant personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in quality management within the manufacturing industry, with a strong preference for experience in wind turbine blade manufacturing or a related sector.
- In-depth knowledge of QMS standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and quality tools such as Six Sigma, SPC, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
- Proven experience in leading quality circles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.
