Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager/Project Engineer to join the Octopus Australia team in our Melbourne or Sydney office.
The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for the delivery of Octopus’s projects at all stages of the project lifecycle including origination/investment, development, construction and operation.
Our project managers/engineers are expected to:
- Manage the construction stage delivery of renewable energy projects, managing scope, program, budget and stakeholder engagement to achieve best for project outcomes.
- Provide engineering support to the wider business including:
- Providing technical input into due diligence for investment processes.
- Supporting development and procurement activities.
- Evaluation of operating plant performance and investigation of issues.
- Supporting with investor relations.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:
- Experience managing the construction stage delivery of Renewable energy hybrid and/or BESS projects.
- Exceptional project and contract management skills. The candidate must be highly organised, confident in managing large and complex contracts and able to handle relationships with project stakeholders effectively, sometimes in challenging circumstances.
- Strong understanding of engineering design processes. Evidence of managing complex engineering activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Candidates must demonstrate a commercial mindset and in particular be able to consider technical challenges in a broader commercial and investment context.
- Knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental practices, legislation, and requirements.
- A strong team player with the attitude to deliver results collaboratively.
- A self-starter with tenacity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Eligibility to work in Australia, visa sponsorship is not offered.
- Engineering qualifications. Candidates with an engineering background in renewable energy, electrical, civil or a related engineering discipline are encouraged to apply.
