JOB SUMMARY: This position is in the Office of Land and Emergency Management (OLEM), Office of Superfund Remediation and Technology Innovation, Assessment and Remediation Division, Site Assessment and Remedy Decisions Branch: About: OLEM This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. MAJOR DUTIES: You will: Lead EPA’s effort to propose and finalize sites to the Superfund National Priorities List (NPL). Manage all aspects of publication of proposed and final listings of sites to the NPL in the Federal Register. Collaborate with regions on all aspects of the site assessment and NPL listing programs. Develop policy guidance, support tools, training resources and regulatory analyses on all aspects of Superfund site assessment, Hazard Ranking System (HRS) and NPL listing process. Direct contractual work efforts to assure that federal funds are properly expended and that contractors are used effectively and efficiently. When entering a Federal job at a grade level lower than the highest promotion potential level, you may be promoted to more complex duties and work more independently, as your career progresses. NOTE: Career ladder promotions are not automatic, and all eligibility and qualifications requirements must be met in order to progress to the next grade level. You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
