The Opportunity:
As Activ8’s Business Development Manager you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building and maintaining client relationships and developing strategic partnerships within the commercial solar energy market.
Responsibilities include:
- Identify and target new business opportunities within the commercial solar energy market.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of high-value prospects.
- Prepare and deliver pitches and presentation to potential new clients including:
- Generating the first-round pricing needed for initial customer presentations
- Follow up and look to close business on quotations which were issued by the team before the creation of this role.
- Create a positive, long lasting relationship with current and potential clients based on trust and follow through.
- Communicating with clients to understand their requirements and offer creative solutions.
- Collaborate with our in house design team who are accountable for final design and Best and Final Offering pricing.
- Liaise with potential customers from facility management right through to Board level.
- Leverage senior managers within Activ8 at the appropriate point to assist you in winning business.
- Attend industry events on occasion.
- Running outbound campaigns to create sales and BD opportunities.
Qualifications/Key Skills:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in the Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Business Development environment.
- Previous experience in Solar PV is a distinct advantage but is not essential
- Construction/engineering sales background is desirable
- Good IT literacy, including standard Microsoft Office packages, ERP software with PV modelling software and ACAD knowledge a plus.
- Demonstrated capability to develop and maintain trusted working relationships both internally and with clients.
- A solution-oriented approach, capable of developing tailored selling strategies.
- Adequate financial knowledge to support effective sales negotiations.
- Excellent commercial acumen with record of accomplishment of successfully driving business growth and profitability through effective IT strategies.
- Committed to delivery of excellent Customer Experience
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail is key, especially at contract negotiation state.
